1. brisbane

The first trip of the year in my gap year from architecture. This time it’s a small 3 day trip to Brisbane, Stradbroke Island to visit my friends on a working holiday to Australia.

I flew out from Avalon airport, Melbourne’s smaller domestic airport.

Album I listened to on the plane. Collaboration albumn between Korean/ Taiwanese bands HYUKOH and Sunset Rollercoaster.

My friend picked me up from the airport and drove us to Cleveland, where the ferry departs for Stradbroke island.

Apparently here it’s normal to have two cars; one on the island and one on the mainland.

My friends do all their shopping on the mainland and bring their groceries on the ferry.

We got coffee in the morning at Amity Point, the Nothernmost town.

The island is mostly a wildlife reserve with a population of just over 2000 people. So most of the scenery was just rainforest and beaches.

My friends Yuta and Fuwa have been working at a fish and chips store here on a working holiday visa for a couple of months. They spend their days off going to the beach or frequenting the few cafes and bars on the island.

How nice.

Yuta and Fuwa!

We followed a strict routine of drinking > activity > drinking, as enforced by Yuta.

One of the places we swam at was Brown Lake, which was infused with tea trees surrounding it.

We ended the night at the local brewery, with a beer and the sunset.

After a hard day of work.

ゆた、ふわ、ありがとう!
